Kara Finnegan is a proud fourth-generation Chicago native and comes from a long line of West Side residents who took pride in investing in Chicago’s beautiful greystones and classic bungalows. Having earned her M.A. from Loyola University Chicago and B.A. from the University of Iowa, Kara has both the academic and professional preparedness to take on the most intricate transactions.
As a young girl, Kara would ride along with her father doing clean-up and maintenance at the apartment buildings in the Bucktown and Wicker Park neighborhoods in the 1980’s. Personal pride of ownership and care were always a priority, and thus sweeping, shoveling, and emptying coins out of the laundry room were par for the course – and a work ethic instilled in Kara which drives her today.
Passionate about investing and rehabbing, Kara purchased her first investment property at the age of 23. She knew sound real estate purchases had the ability to create a revenue stream, and wasn’t intimidated by the commitment to make it happen. Kara was energized by the idea of helping others buy and sell, and soon thereafter got her license to sell real estate, ultimately growing what is now a successful real estate business.
Showing buyers or renters a home’s potential, walking sellers through what they need to consider before pricing their home for sale, and taking the stress and worry out of the process for her clients – are areas Kara excels at, and qualities her clients have come to count on.
While Kara specializes in homes and investment properties in the Bucktown, Wicker Park, Ukrainian Village, and Logan Square neighborhoods, her experience reaches far and wide across Chicago’s 77 neighborhoods. She proudly calls Oak Park home and has a deep understanding of the real estate market in this vibrant community.
Kara enjoys exploring Chicago’s many beautiful parks, throwing the frisbee at the Montrose Dog Beach, and enjoying the skyline from the 31st Street Beach. Quite frankly, any time she can be enjoying a corner of what our world-class city has to offer, rest assured, Kara is on it!
