Alongside his colleagues at Corcoran Urban, Matt prides himself on delivering a concierge-level, one-on-one experience for every client—from first-time buyers to seasoned investors and luxury sellers. A respected leader in the real estate industry, Matt served as the 99th President of Illinois REALTORS® (2023–2024), representing more than 50,000 members statewide. Having been part of the organization’s leadership team since 2021, he is widely regarded as a visionary and servant leader who advocates for fairness, opportunity, and inclusion within housing and the real estate profession. Matt is deeply committed to addressing wealth disparities and expanding access to homeownership, working to create greater equity for all communities.
In 2017, Matt established the Matt Silver Advocacy Endeavor Scholarship through the Chicago Association of REALTORS®, providing financial support to multicultural REALTORS® who wish to attend the Illinois REALTORS® Capitol Conference (CAPCON) and the National Association of REALTORS® Midyear Meetings. The program has already supported more than ten recipients and continues to open doors for emerging leaders in the industry.
Matt further demonstrated his commitment to professional excellence in 2019 when he earned the prestigious Commitment to Excellence (C2EX) endorsement from the National Association of REALTORS®. This distinction recognizes REALTORS® who have demonstrated exceptional knowledge and competency across ten core areas of real estate practice, including client service, ethical conduct, and equal professional service.
Matt began his real estate career in commercial brokerage in 1998 before transitioning into residential sales. His extensive experience across downtown Chicago and the North Shore markets—combined with his meticulous attention to detail in negotiations—gives clients confidence that their interests remain the top priority throughout every transaction. Through ongoing education and industry certifications, Matt remains at the forefront of evolving market trends, technology, and negotiation strategies, ensuring the process is both effective and enjoyable for his clients.

A respected voice in real estate policy and industry insight, Matt has been quoted in the Chicago Tribune and Crain’s Chicago Business, and frequently appears on television news programs discussing market trends. He can also be heard throughout the week on WBBM Newsradio 780 and 105.9 FM during the Real Estate Minute.
Previously, Matt served as 2017 President of the Chicago Association of REALTORS®, representing nearly 15,000 members and acting as a leading advocate for the profession and property owners across the city. His policy work has included advising lawmakers in Chicago, Springfield, and Washington, D.C. on issues ranging from property taxes and lending programs to private property rights.
Matt also serves as a Federal Political Coordinator (FPC) for Illinois REALTORS®, working closely with U.S. Representative Brad Schneider of Illinois’ 10th Congressional District. In addition, he has played a role in initiatives connecting international consulates with Illinois REALTORS® to promote global real estate investment, and continues to serve as liaison to the Consulate General of Israel in Chicago.
Matt earned his Bachelor of Arts from Michigan State University’s College of Business, specializing in Hotel, Restaurant, and Institutional Management.
Above all, Matt’s greatest pride is his son, Grant, a 2022 graduate of the Kelley School of Business at Indiana University, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in Finance.
