Real Estate Round-up

It was another busy week in real estate news last week. Today we present our Monday Real Estate Round-Up on Tuesday due to the Labor Day Holiday.

Need decorating ideas? Apartment Therapy profiles the home of Robyn and Drew who live in 1250 square feet in Logan Square. Their light-filled apartment is filled with vintage finds from Craigslist and vintage stores. See the images and more here.

The Lakeshore Athletic Club at 411 N. Wabash was demolished last week. Initially there was speculation about what might be planned for the River North site, but Crain's reported that the joint venture behind the project indicated that it was being replaced by a fenced parking lot. Read more here.

New retail, storefronts and offices are coming to the intersection of Milwaukee, Damen and North in Wicker Park. Last Tuesday a row of buildings to the north totaling seven lots were sold for $5.05 million to LG Development. Read more here.

Chicago Agent Magazine has released a graph outlining the the city's top ten selling neighborhoods for the month of July. Topping the list is the Near North Side with 316 sales, followed by West Town with 186 and Lincoln Park with 163.  For the full graph head over here.

Proceeding at full speed is the enormous New City development currently under construction on Goose Island on the city's North Side. It's slated for completion fall 2015 and the $260 million project from Structured Development and Bucksbaum Retail will have a 19-story residential tower, 40,000 square feet of office space and a whopping 360,000 square feet of retail space.
