Greektown's newest apartment building is now leasing its units, but you can't move in for a few months yet.

The 33-story luxury highrise called "Arkadia Tower," is now leasing its 350 apartments for March 2015 occupancy, according to a recent report in DNAinfo.

The West Loop building also acknowledges its Greektown location with an image of the Parthenon on the base. The first unit was rented one week ago. The building will feature studio, one, two and three bedrooms together with 20,000 square feet of retail space. Rents will range from $1,610 for a 565-square-foot studio and up, with a 1,200-square-foot two bedroom two bath renting for $2,910.

More apartments are coming to Milwaukee Avenue in the popular Wicker Park neighborhood. Developer Cedar Street Companies will renovate a historic commercial building into a total of 20 rental apartments.

The developer has been active in Uptown and Edgewater in recent years and recently filed a zoning application for the property in Wicker Park at about 1426 N. Milwaukee Aven.

Donald Trump's sign may be here to stay but Mayor Rahm Emanuel took a step last week to prevent any more signage along the Chicago River, the city's "second lakefront.

Last Thursday the city's Zoning Committee agreed to turn the riverfront into a "sign district" with limits on size and placement of future signs.

Of course, Trump's pleased; it means less competition for his enormous sign.

"This legislation is not something I'm exactly opposed to," Trump told the Chicago Sun-Times after the ordinance was intrudced.

While we might not want to think that winter is here, last Friday it became official with the opening of the ice rink at Millennium Park on Michigan Avenue.

And it opened just in time for the first reported snow flurries of the year.

Let's just try and keep a polar vortex at bay for as long as possible.
