A new report pegs the price of a median one-bedroom rental in Chicago at $1670 a month, making the city the ninth most expensive place for renters in the country.
According to the report, from the website byzumper.com, an agency which says it offers 8,200 apartments in the city and Evanston, the most expensive rents were on the Near North Side, at $2,000 and the top five most expensive rental markets were the Loop at $1,960, the Near West Side at $1,960 and Lincoln Park at $1,750.
Trending up were rents in Lakeview, with a 3.7 percent increase in February, Auburn Gresham, up 4.6 and North Lawndale, up 4.3 percent.
