Urban Partner Matt Silver Named Trade Association President

Chicago-based Urban Real Estate (Urban) congratulates partner Matt Silver for being installed as the 133rd president of the Chicago Association of REALTORS® (C.A.R.), the local board of the National Association of REALTORS®. Matt officially begins his term October 1, 2016.

Before a crowd of more than 700 attendees at the association's annual gala, Silver’s message to REALTORS® and industry leaders, alike, was that Chicago matters, and that we cannot afford to lose any of our 77 neighborhoods due to lack of service and economic prosperity.  “We are unable to ignore these communities which need us.  Every home, street, and neighborhood matters,” Silver said. “It is our responsibility as REALTORS® to explore ways to build up our underserved communities. Home ownership, community involvement and increased commercial offerings have a lasting impact on these neighborhoods.” C.A.R. represents more than 13,000 REALTOR® members in the residential and commercial sectors.

Matt Silver was named partner with Urban Real Estate in early 2016, and has a long-time national reputation as one of the premier real estate brokers in Chicago for his in-depth market knowledge, and persistence to close the most prudent deal for his buyers and sellers. His clients include high-profile VIPs including major league sports figures, film and media celebrities, and CEOs. With his team at Urban, Matt takes pride in offering clients a concierge, one-on-one service, that is unparalleled in the industry.

Silver’s installation is a dual-honor for Urban, with this being the second president to hail from the brokerage.  Matt Farrell, managing partner, held the office in 2013. “Mr. Silver is a trusted leader and the consummate professional to his clients and to all he works with in our industry. It’s an honor to have him represent us as a leading voice, shaping and informing legislative, policy, taxation, and practical matters that impact our business, our communities, and our clients,” says Farrell.  “Urban continues to grow with some of the brightest, smartest, and most talented individuals in this business.  He is the right leader to tackle the issues our market is facing today and we couldn’t be more proud to support him.”

The Highland Park resident began his career in the commercial real estate sector in 1998 before making the transition to focus on residential transactions. His industry experience in the downtown Chicago and North Shore markets, along with his attention to every detail in the negotiation, affords clients near or far the assurance that their interests are front and center.
