Kelly Smith, partner with Urban Real Estate, was a proud sponsor of the Chicago Chapter of the Cystic Fibrosis (CF) Foundation fundraiser, “Aged to Perfection: Bourbon and Bacon”, held at Binny’s Lincoln Park Tasting Room on November 10. With approximately 250 guests in attendance, the organization raised more than $30,000 to help continue to fight the battle.
Cystic Fibrosis is a progressive, genetic disease that causes persistent lung infections and limits the ability to breathe over time. According to the foundation, the median predicted survival age is close to 40.
In its second year, the event was co-hosted by ESPN Radio’s Carmen DeFalco, of the “Carmen & Jurko” Show. “This is a pertinent disease that needs continued funding to support the innovative research and clinical trials to help find a cure for patients living with CF,” said Smith. “It is a privilege to do our part to support the efforts of a foundation doing such tremendous work.”
