Lincoln Park

Why we love Lincoln Park

Whether you are looking for a tranquil nature escape or a Michelin-star dining experience, you will find it in Lincoln Park. Named after the expansive picturesque gardens, the neighborhood of Lincoln Park has something for everyone. Families enjoy the vast lakefront green space, choice of playgrounds and kid-friendly attractions, such as Peggy Notebaert Nature Museum, Lincoln Park Zoo and Farm-in-the-Zoo experience.

Hive

Adults appreciate visiting Lincoln Park Conservatory, an outdoor theatre, a rowing canal, the Chicago History Museum, and playing fields.

Playground

Chicago’s oldest park, Lincoln Park, stretches for miles along the lakefront, from Streeterville to Edgewater. Come here during the week to have the Nature Boardwalk all to yourself, if you don’t count the turtles and iridescent dragonflies. From spring to late fall, the restored habitat, prairie and pond, delight its visitors. This natural oasis gives migrating birds a place to stay and teaches guests about the native Midwestern ecosystem.

Lincoln

Stop by the famous statues of General Ulysses S. Grant or Abraham Lincoln. Hear what they have to say through the Statues Stories app. If you have more time, explore the Chicago History Museum. Learn more about the devastating Chicago fire in the new permanent exhibit City on Fire: Chicago 1871.

Pond

Wish to connect with nature? Find your way into the hidden Alfred Caldwell Lily Pond. Looking into the serene reflective pool, with nothing but a gentle waterfall breaking the silence, it is easy to forget that you are in the middle of a metropolis. Bird watchers will love visiting one of the two bird sanctuaries in Lincoln Park.

One of the country’s oldest zoos, Lincoln Park Zoo, offers no-admission entry year around and plenty of things to do, from youth camps to garden tours, to mixology classes. Come savor a selection of more than 150 craft beers at the Craft Brews Beer Festival on September 18th. 2021 will also see a return of Chicago’s favorite holiday tradition, ZooLights.

It comes as no surprise then, that Lincoln Park is one of the most sought-after neighborhoods. An historically affluent community, Lincoln Park continues to attract investment. While the average single-family house is priced around $1 million, many homes in the area sell for $10 million and more; with the most expensive listing being 1932 N Burling– magnificent grand mansion priced at $45M.

LakeFront

From manicured gardens to North Ave Beach to shopping and museums, there’s enough here to spend an entire day, a week… or a lifetime exploring.
